Solutions are found in the problem

Everything has already been created. It is simply a matter of tuning your mind to the vibration that is required; the vision and letting time catch up. -Brett Cowan

It was with this attitude that I began writing More Than Life. I had a clear vision of what it was that I was creating, I just had no idea how it would come about.

This is how you might have found this site. You might have a glorious vision for your life, though you have no idea how you will  do this. On the other hand you mightn't have a clue on what your life is for. Either way perfect, you are here.

More Than Life was written for everyone. There is something in this book for anyone who has ever asked the question, Why? or How? You might look at the world and only see problems, but I assure you that they are the tip of the solution.

"Ponder life, ponder the universe and debate modern man's role in all earthly matters. Brett Cowan leaves no stone unturned - religious doctrines, globalisation, the true purpose of trees, the value of animals, environmental issues such as climate change and development, drugs, chakras, television, terrorism... Certainly thought-provoking and guaranteed to spark animated discussion."
  -Wendy O'Hanlon APN Newspapers

As the title, More Than Life suggests, I get to the nuts and bolts of what life is, but also what is going on behind the scenes. What makes one write a book or sing a song or drop a bomb? There are things going on that our five physical senses are unaware of and it is from this perspective that I write from.

For example watch a movie, you will see actors and actresses performing, playing a part. There will be different props, sounds, lighting; many things happening to create the overall effect. Though there is one person aware of and orchestrating the whole process/movie. The Director.

Likewise what we see in the street or on television is an overall effect of different experiences and backgrounds converging as one. It is only if you go behind the scenes you will discover the how and why. This is what More Than Life is about, I examine the hard facts and then go beyond, to generate the bigger picture, to become more than life.

"This is a thought-provoking novel, which challenges our beliefs.  I am sure that I am not the only person who has stood in a rainforest, on a mountain or looked at the ocean and seen the beauty of what is before me.  How did this happen and how was it created?   The sheer magnificence of earth’s scenery conjures up thoughts of creation and life and death. Brett Cowan has written a book of thoughts which examines our very existence”
-John Morrow’s Pick of the Week

Now I know what you're thinking; how can one person know so much about everything. Good point! But I ask you to consider this; we use between 3-5% of our brain capacity. What would a person using 100% be capable of? Now I am not saying that I use 100%, well maybe on a good day.

Like the director I always look at the bigger picture and the different elements and players. In my school years I would daydream staring out the window, looking at the cycle of life. Even back then I could see the bigger picture of trees and rivers and how they were basis of life.

"I think it is a wonderful book that does what I believe a book should do; it incites thought. Like you, I have always believed that we are part of a continuing cycle. I believe that science and religion has blindfolded mankind. We wear blinkers that govern our peripheral vision when we look at or consider anything that is unknown, instead of considering as with a blank canvas we think in terms of known realities. Brett Cowan's book points out new ways of thinking and could potentially change how we see and think about the importance of ourselves in creation and especially our important roll as custodians of the Earth, GOOD WORK BRETT."

'Brett Cowan's 'More Than Life' offers a new and exciting look at the way we live our everyday lives today, by exploring where we have come from and where we are destined to head. Cowan provokes every sense as he challenges what we consider to be the 'norm'.
Whilst sometimes causing uncomfortable moments for the reader, 'More than Life' creates an opportunity to openly and honestly consider what it is to be alive.'
 -Luke Dove, director, Peppercorn movies.

‘More than life’ is a manual for change, confronting most facets of life on earth. From the ancient legends of creation through to what we consume and how we choose to live, this book has it all. It questions cultural realities whilst delivering well-researched, previously unrelated history of Earths culture.    ‘More than life’ raises the deepest questions about cultural perception and modern lifestyles. Written with a sense of biblical proportion, the book has the power of spiritual truth, beyond the fore thought, triggering spontaneous enlightenment to the dedicated reader. An awesome wealth of spiritual and mythical wisdom is discussed, with references and quotes from Eastern religions through to science and history.   ‘More than life’ is 320 pages of confronting truth, served with a spiritual sensitivity; it is a book for someone with an open mind or an honest heart. The seeds of the alternative generation of the 60’s have flowered into an opportunity for all to grow through the dark side of life and free the soul.
Author Brett  Cowan shares his journey of enlightenment, reading ‘More than life’ one senses an optimistic forecast for our otherwise unsustainable society. Offering tools for thought, ‘More than life’ breaks down the fictional charade of an isolated perspective. This book has to be read to be believed.'
-Jamie Simpson, Sustainable Horticulture

'I think we all know there is something mystical about our existence on this planet. Brett Cowan has had the courage to put the information on paper and provided us with the privilege of reading it. A true learning and transforming experience.'
-Ian Hunt, Health professional

'I am humbled by Brett's ability to communicate the profound with mind-blowing simplicity and clarity.'
-Mark Evarts, Star Fish Lifestyle Coach

'Informative, challenging and inspiring. More than Life presents an enlightened perspective of our society and environment.
Incredibly, it makes sense of our existence and our purpose, developing our awareness and showing how we can all make a difference.
Brett Cowan has presented his profound knowledge in a way that makes it accessible to all and has presented ways we as a society can truly make a difference to our world, which is very insightful considering our current world events. More than Life presents solutions for uniting mankind on a continual global level and ways to preserve our precious planet.'
-Deidre Young B.Ed, author

'More than Life takes the reader on a journey that offers an opportunity to increase one's capacity to consider very deep issues, which include our creation, past, present and future.
Very well documented and researched evidence that formidably counteracts the current knowledge and mind-set that we are not responsible for Earth’s current and past living conditions.
If we do not acknowledge our past it will quickly become our future The best and most compelling evidence unfortunately is the Asian Tsunami, one of the most tragic events in living memory as the death toll reaches well over 200,000 people. An earthquake caused this event, which could be the result of interference with the composition of the Earth.
The author identifies the exploitation of the earth and the environment, which has inherent immediate and long-term dangers, through using resources of the earth at an unsustainable rate. I wholeheartedly agree with this summary.
We need more enlightened people expressing their wisdom, knowledge and taking up the nation's leadership positions to develop a working model for all people to live a balanced life with the earth, the environment and ourselves.'
-Reg Blow, Tabribelang Bunda Goreng Goreng elder. Co-founder of the Darebin Park, Spiritual Healing Trail.
